[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO PERFORM AND RECIEVE AWARD AT PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2013

Multi-award winning recording artist Christina Aguilera will perform live at PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2013, from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, airing on the CBS Television Network (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT). She will be joining previously announced performer, country star Jason Aldean. The People’s Choice Awards is the only major awards show where fans determine the nominees and winners across categories of movies, music and television.

In addition to performing, Christina Aguilera will be presented with the 2013 "PEOPLE'S VOICE" award. Waterford Crystal will design the custom trophy, which recognizes Aguilera’s outstanding achievements in the music industry, and celebrates her ability to reach millions of fans both at home and abroad, across pop, soul and R&B genres.

"I am thrilled to announce that Christina Aguilera is joining Jason Aldean as a performer at the People's Choice Awards," said Executive Producer Mark Burnett.

"Christina is one of my dearest friends and lights up literally every stage she steps onto. And I am so glad that I get to work with the amazing Jason Aldean again. I cannot wait to see these performances live on show night!"

Aguilera has sold more than 43 million albums worldwide, achieved four #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, won five Grammy® Awards and was the only artist under 30 to make Rolling Stonemagazine’s list of 100 greatest singers of all time. In 2012, while mentoring new talent in her role as coach on "The Voice," Christina released her new album, "Lotus", which features collaborations with Max Martin, Sia, and Alex Da Kid and duets with Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA REFOCUSES ON HER OWN VOICE IN 'LOTUS'

It’s been six years since Christina Aguilera made a record that would remind us why she was a perfect choice for a show called “The Voice.” For better and for worse, the NBC singing competition is what the former Mouseketeer is best known for now. Bubbling over with memorable melodies, throbbing dance grooves, and dynamic vocals, her new album, “Lotus,” is a good start in the effort to refocus attention on Aguilera’s skills and scrub our memories of 2010’s disastrous “Bionic.”

Aside from the hokey title track, it is front-loaded with goodies, including the Gloria Gaynor-meets-Depeche Mode dance of anger that is “Army of Me,” the kooky horn-and-yodel fest “Red Hot Kinda Love,” and the impossible-to-resist exhortation to “Make the World Move.” The piano ballad “Blank Page,” co-written by Aguilera, Australian singer-songwriter Sia, and Chris Braide, is among the best performances Aguilera has ever put to tape. Two of her fellow “Voice” coaches pitch in elsewhere, with Cee Lo Green helping turn up the love on “Make the World Move” and Blake Shelton helping turn down the lights on the country-inflected closer, “Just a Fool.”

There are missteps, including needless Auto-tune and a few of what sound like Rihanna or Katy Perry leftovers. And there are several tracks that sound mindlessly repetitive as sedentary listening experiences but will likely improve with the addition of a dancefloor, including the Max Martin-Shellback produced “Let There Be Love.” Welcome back, Xtina. [NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA SAYS 'LOTUS' LP WILL BE 'MULTI-LAYERED, HEARTFELT'

Christina Aguilera admits that her last album, 2010's Bionic, didn't connect with her fans. "It had a lot of amazing sounds and a futuristic twist to it," she says. "But if you weren't a music person, it was just going to go over your head. A lot of the collaborations were with people that were either very underground or weren't necessarily from the pop world. I really think it was far ahead of its time and it'll be fully appreciated in the years to come."

On her follow-up, Lotus – her first LP since getting a divorce and becoming a judge on The Voice – Aguilera goes for a sleeker mainstream pop sound, working with producers like Max Martin, Lucas Secon and Shellback. "I don't really push myself to have those formulaic commercial successes," Aguilera says. "It's dishonest and it starts lacking creativity. I embraced being a pop artist, but I like doing it on my own terms, at my own pace."

Aguilera sees Lotus (in stores on November 9th) as a companion piece of sorts to her 2002 album, Stripped. "It really takes me back to that time," she says. "I was shedding a skin in a sense. I had been pigeonholed as formula-pop driven, or molded or forced to be something I didn't feel was true to me. I was labeled from 'Genie in a Bottle,' and I had a lot of things to say and share as a 21-year-old woman. Now I've come full circle a decade later. I had a greatest hits album and I experienced a decade in this crazy business. It's a time of celebration, of embracing being a pop star."

The songs span a range of emotions, from the pain of loss through a spiritual rebirth to a celebration of life. "It's a very multi-layered, very heartfelt record," she says. "I wanted to share all the different sides of me, as a woman, and as a creator and an artist. Part of that is being a mom. Part of that is sexuality. Part of that is vulnerability. Part of that is aggression and angst. All those pieces make me who I am."

[NEWS] THR: CHRISTINA AGUILERA TRANSFORMS INTO KILLER TRAILER TRASH IN NEW MUSIC VIDEO

At the beginning of Christina Aguilera's official music video for "Your Body," a warning that "No men were harmed in the making of this video" appears. It's necessary information, since the Melina Matsoukas-directed clip for the new single, which premiered on Friday (Sept. 28), features the pop star seducing and slaughtering a handful of men who only want to love her body.

Seemingly inspired by the cartoonish violence on her TV screen, the curvaceous Aguilera steps outside of her trailer in the video to find her first victim -- a dude with a car that she blows up when she tires of his good looks. Next is a billiards player who makes the mistake of following Xtina into a public restroom; soon, he's unconscious on the toilet, covered in a light blue goo that the pop star is naughtily wiping off her cheek.

Another standout of the video is, of course, Aguilera's wardrobe selection, highlighted by a curve-hugging black dress, low-cut American flag shirt, jean vest covered in her blonde dreadlocks and long-sleeved white tee that reads "F*ck the Paparazzi." By the end of the video, when Aguilera whacks her final victim with a bat, the glitter that the guy's body turns into sprinkles seamlessly into her hot-pink wig.

Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, "Your Body" debuted at No. 34 on this week's Hot 100 after hitting the Web last week. The single previews Aguilera's fifth studio album, Lotus, an album that the singer has called a "rebirth" and is due out Nov. 13 on RCA Records.

[NEWS] MTVBUZZWORTHY: 'CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S 'YOUR BODY' DEMO SURFACES SLAYS US ALL'

You guys! Christina Aguilera is reclaiming her position at the top of the charts, and no wig is safe. Is this the latest evidence of Xtina's move back toward global domination? Uh duh, to put it eloquently.

The newly surfaced "Your Body" demo (which may also end up appearing under the title "Touch Your Body" or "F*** Your Body," because YOLO) surfaced yesterday after weeks of anticipation. (And just sayin', it must be a HUGE sigh of relief for fans awaiting the "Not Myself Tonight" chanteuse's big comeback single.) Trust us: "Your Body" doesn't disappoint.

Find out more about "Your Body" after the jump.

Though it's just a demo, the Max Martin-produced track is chilly and dissonant, with gauzy synths and one of those can't-get-you-out-of-my-head choruses that's almost deceptively simple. The track also succeeds in making Christina's intentions known, loud and clear. "All I wanna do is f*** your body!" Christina cries over skittering percussion. "Tonight's your lucky night, I know you want it!" We do, Christina. We do.

The best part, though, comes nearly three minutes in when Christina puts her legendary pipes to work delivering the epic line: "I think you already know my name." She's right — we already do, and if the album version delivers on the promise of this demo, we're pretty sure we'll be seeing a lot more of that name.

Editor's Note:
We couldn't agree more! 'Your Body' owns! Christina really stole it, owned it, and sold it with this one!

[NEWS] BILLBOARD: 'NEW CHRISTINA AGUILERA SINGLE EXPECTED FOR AUGUST RELEASE'

It's been two years and two seasons of "The Voice" since Christina Aguilera's last studio album, but new music from the veteran pop star may be arriving before summer's end.

A source tells Billboard that Aguilera is working hard on the follow-up to 2010's "Bionic," and that a new single is expected to be released in early August. The club banger was produced by Swedish pop hit-maker Max Martin, and its chorus is built around the line, "All I want to do is what you wanted."

Martin -- best known for producing hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, among others -- has yet to helm a single for Aguilera.
