"I've passed up on many a thing that could have made me a big artist or something," XCX says in a new interview with Popjustice. "Like I was offered a feature on a Christina Aguilera song and I turned it down. It just wasn't right. She's cool, but it just wasn't right." source : Billboard

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA RECORDS SPANISH SONG WITH ALEJANDRO FERNANDEZ

Yes kiddies, you read that right. Christina Aguilera is set to release a new Spanish track in the next couple of weeks. The track is set to be a duet with Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez. The will serve as the theme song for Salvador Mejía Alejandre’s new soap opera, “La Tempestad”. The Mexican director and TV producer confirmed that the has been finished and is ready for release, but he didn’t give any further details about its release but he did say that the song is, "...romantic, popular and vibrant", just like the series.

Spanishtina is back guys. Now all we can do is sit and wait for that track to drop. In the meantime, get your Spanish ready.

[NEWS] MICHELLE (@MICHELLEONAMP) GETS A FIRST LISTEN AT CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S #LOTUS

Well we’ve been watching Christina Aguilera on The Voice with our very own Carson Daly, and we’ve been patiently waiting for her new album, Lotus. The good news is, the wait is almost over! Lotus is due out November 13th, but you don’t have to wait that long for more details because I got an exclusive first listen!

The listening party was at an amazing estate in Santa Monica, called “House of Rock” – it even had a recording studio on the top floor. I mean, the place was insanely gorgeous! Christina arrived wearing a flowing leopard print maxi dress with a little jean jacket. She had on sky high hot pink and gold heels and sparkly long necklaces. Her signature blonde hair had purple and hot pink tips and looked super cool!

I got to say hello to her and told her I work with Carson – yes, of course I’m going to throw out there that we both work with him! Actually now that I think about it, how crazy is that? Anyways, she was sweet and you could tell she was very excited to play her new music.

We headed to a totally cozy room with fresh flowers and candles burning. There were long, flowing white draperies and faux fur pillows all over the comfy couches. Christina was at the front of the room in a big chair with her notes handy so she could talk about each track as she played them for us. She said she really wanted to sit down and walk us through the album rather than just have it playing in the background while everyone mingles. I was glad she did it this way because it meant much more to hear about her music and how she felt about each track.

Christina talked a lot about how she’s been through a lot since her last album. She mentioned The Voice and talked about how special it was to mentor aspiring singers on the show. She touched on how happy she was for such a full career, saying, “I’m proud to be the pop star that I am.”

Then she played the intro on the album, explaining that she chose the name Lotus because, “It means the unbreakable flower — something that stands the test of time.”

So let’s get to it, here’s a little preview of my favorite songs I heard from Lotus:

[NEWS] THR: CHRISTINA AGUILERA DEBUTS NEW ALBUM #LOTUS AT INTIMATE INDUSTRY PARTY

Listening to an album while the artist who recorded it is feet away can be an awkward experience. Do you clap after every song? How much is too much head-bobbing? Is it rude to get up for a bathroom break? What about the bar?

On the other hand, it’s the rare opportunity for said artist to truly present their vision -- to talk about each track, how they came together and what the album means as a cohesive collection of thoughts and emotions put to melody and lyrics. It takes a certain showmanship to pull it off -- not only to gather your supporters but to turn an intimate setting into a giant pep rally.

To that end, Christina Aguilera has no trouble saying, “Go, me!” It’s part of the reason she’s come to sell tens of millions of albums, win four Grammy Awards and land a well-paying gig as chief celebrity coach on NBC’s The Voice. And now, at 31, she readily confesses (even to a room full of journalists, TV bookers and label executives): “I'm proud to be the pop star that I am.”

The proof is in Aguilera’s fifth proper full-length Lotus (she’s released seven albums since her 1999 debut, including a Spanish record and a Christmas collection), which the singer explained at a listening party held at Santa Monica’s House of Rock is her “full circle” moment.

Teaming up for two songs with hitmaker Max Martin, and completing the collaboration cycle with fellow Voice stars Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton (both of whom appear on Lotus tracks, though the latter has yet to record his part), she describes the finished product as a “labor of love” and the latest turn in “a long road.” Said Aguilera on Wednesday night: “I've had radio success, I’ve had non-radio successes -- it's all about creativity and expression. I’ve learned a lot.”

[NEWS] MTV: POP-CULTURE CHEAT SHEET FOR CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S 'YOUR BODY' MUSIC VIDEO

Christina Aguilera's brand-new "Your Body" video is certainly a feast for the eyes, what with its brightly colored scenes of violence (and gratuitous automobile explosions), but it's also an all-you-can-eat buffet for pop-culture aficionados.

Yes, aside from the obvious odes to Russ Meyer flicks and trailer-park chic, "Your Body" is also loaded with subtler nods to our pop-cult past — which is why we've spent the day analyzing every frame, noting each fleeting tribute to trashy TV, sugar-coated cereals and lunar-ready footwear (what can we say, we have a lot of time on our hands). And now, in celebration of Christina's return — and her truly clever new video — we're presenting all our findings to you. Here is our pop-culture cheat sheet for the "Your Body" video, alphabetized and cross-referenced for your convenience:
