[VIDEO] CHRISTINA AGUILERA GIVES EMOTIONAL SPEECH AS SHE ACCEPTS 'HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD'

Pop singer and coach on NBC’s “The Voice” Christina Aguilera received the Humanitarian of the Year Award. She is the global spokeswoman for Yum! Brands’ World Hunger Relief, a global movement and campaign to raise awareness and funds to end hunger.
“I’ve had a lot of great successes and I’ve been fortunate enough to, you know win a few Grammys… But, from my heart, it really means a lot to be recognized for what’s important to me,” the singer said, referencing her desire to connect people all over the world.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to win a few Grammys ... but from my heart it really means a lot to be recognized for what is most important to me,“ she said, tearing up on stage.

“Yes, the stage is a platform for me, and I’m able to have fun with that and play dress up ... but my purpose and what I do with this platform is really important to me.”

[NEWS] CHRISTINA AGUILERA WILL RECEIVE THE MUHAMMAD ALI HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

Looks like we have something else to boast about. Our girl is being honored, yet again, for her humanitarian work with WFP and Yum! Brands this October at the Ali Humanitarian Awards. She will receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian of the Year Award.
Former President Jimmy Carter will receive a lifetime humanitarian achievement award bearing Muhammad Ali's name next month, headlining a list of winners that includes singers Christina Aguilera and Michael Bolton for the first-ever awards that promote achievements in the fight for social justice.
Aguilera, a multiple Grammy Award winner who has sold more than 43 million records, will receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian of the Year Award.
In 2010, Aguilera became an anti-hunger ambassador for the UN World Food Programme. She has raised funds and awareness for the humanitarian organization with visits to its operations in Haiti, Guatemala and most recently Rwanda.
She also has been a global advocate for fast-food company Yum Brands Inc.'s World Hunger Relief campaign to raise awareness and money to end hunger.
